Abstract
The present investigation aims to study the association between physical exercise, obesity, and self-esteem tends as objective to notice how these varied associated. For such, a sample of 382 participants, 199 female and 183 male, with ages understood between 18 and 74 years of age. It was also considered the academic qualifications and the marital status to obtain a representative population sample. We used the questionnaire physical Activity Measure to evaluate the obesity used IMC (Index of Corporal Mass) to measure physical exercise. For the variable of self-esteem, we used Rosenberg’s Scale. The results indicate significant correlations do not exist between physical exercise and self-esteem and between physical exercise and IMC, with values of correlation of -.011 e .006, respectively. The results contradict those that have been reported in previous studies.
